| After four consecutive wins under manager Michael Carrick, Manchester United drew against West Ham United last weekend. The Red Devils remain in 5th place in the table, in a battle for the 4th which is Champions League spot, although Chelsea and Liverpool are equal in points with United. Everton, meanwhile, currently sit in 8th place. Manchester United seem to be stabilizing somewhat away from home as they've only lost once in their last ten matches. Nine of those last ten away games saw more goals in the second half across all 13 away games, the total is eleven. Everton enter this clash with a realistic chance of making history. After their 1-0 victory at Old Trafford in November, the Toffees could complete the Premier League double against Manchester United for only the second time, following their 2013-14 triumph, although David Moyes was still in charge of the Red Devils back then. Historically, the overall record clearly speaks against Everton, as no team has suffered more defeats or more home losses against a single opponent in the Premier League than the Toffees against Manchester United. Everton's current home record is also a cause for concern. They have lost five of their last nine Premier League home games. However, Everton have only failed to score once in their last eight home games in the 0-1 loss against Arsenal. |
